Trends like Ghibli-style edits dilute the authenticity of original art!

AI-generated Studio Ghibli art is all over the internet nowadays, and it's an explosion of art generated by Miyazaki. It looks dreamy, no doubt. But the question is: Are we just following the trend and forgetting its real meaning?

Hayao Miyazaki’s artwork is intentional, personal, full of emotions and senses. His films are drawn by hand with a lot of detailing and efforts that goes beyond beauty. Every frame of those films is designed with human experiences, emotions and philosophy in mind. On the other hand when people are generating “Ghibli-style” versions of random photos using AI tools they produce the look, but not the heart.

AI can generate textures and colour palettes But it cannot add up narrative context and emotions—things that Miyazaki makes sure in his work. Studio Ghibli's art isn’t just about soothing colours and effects. It’s about how those elements feel in a moment. AI edits reduce that beauty into a filter—a look to apply in terms of following a trend. They transform a deeply expressive art form into a filter or template. This is where the dilution of authenticity begins.
